Please review these guidelines. All sessions run on BigBlueButton (BBB).
Important: talks are pre-recorded and will be played during the session; only the Q&A and discussion parts are live. This format accommodates varying internet/electricity conditions for speakers joining from Iran and elsewhere.

For all attendees

• Test BBB in advance: If new to BBB, please test before the event. A short tutorial is available here. We can arrange a brief live test in the week prior to the conference.
• Clear background & lighting: Simple, neutral background; face a soft light source from the front.
• Audio: Use wired headphones or a USB mic; keep muted when not speaking.
• Camera: Eye-level, head-and-shoulders in frame; sit about 50–70 cm from the camera.
• Quiet environment: Close doors/windows; silence notifications; let others know you’re in a live session.
• Connection: Prefer wired ethernet; if shared, ask others to limit heavy traffic. If bandwidth is low, switch off your camera during Q&A.
• Names and pronouns: Join with your real name (and optional pronouns in brackets).
• Accessibility basics: Keep chat concise and clear; enable captions if supported by your OS/browser.

For speakers (pre-recorded talks + live Q&A)

• What to submit: A pre-recorded video of your talk. No separate PDF is required.
• Duration: Plenary talks: 20 minutes. Please keep strictly to time.
• Format & quality: MP4 (H.264), 1080p (or 720p minimum), 25–30 fps, audio 44.1/48 kHz. Record in a quiet room with a plain background and stable lighting.
• Naming: Lastname_Firstname_Title_AnthroLandscapes2025.mp4
• Delivery: Upload your file via the link provided by the Organizing Committee by [December 10].
• Playback: Your video will be played by the host in BBB at the scheduled time.
• Live presence: Please join your session 15 minutes early. Be present for the live Q&A right after your video.
• Low-bandwidth fallback: If your connection is unstable, you may keep camera off and answer via audio or chat. A dial-in or phone-hotspot fallback is acceptable.
• Slide legibility: Use large fonts (≥ 24 pt) and high contrast; define acronyms on first use; briefly describe key visuals.
• Citations & data: Attribute sources clearly; avoid sharing sensitive or non-shareable data.

BigBlueButton basics

• Join early: Arrive a few minutes before your session; hosts admit participants at start time.
• Audio test: Run BBB’s echo test; choose “Microphone” if you hear yourself, otherwise “Listen only.”
• Chat & Q&A: Post concise questions in chat; the moderator will batch and relay them to speakers.
• Screen sharing (for Q&A only, if needed): Use Chrome/Chromium; share a specific window/tab if you must show a slide.
• Recording policy: Official recording/streaming of talks is handled by the Organizing Committee (see Code of Conduct). Live Q&A is not redistributed without consent.

Quick troubleshooting

• No audio? Re-join audio → run echo test → check OS/browser mic permissions → switch to “Listen only.”
• Echo/feedback? Use headphones; mute your mic; only one device per room should connect with audio.
• Lag or dropouts? Turn off camera, close extra tabs, lower video resolution, or try another network/hotspot.
• Slides unreadable? Use BBB zoom controls or request full-screen from the host.
